Spring 2017 In-Store Events

Book World of Janesville has a couple of fun events coming up this spring:

From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, local author Linda Romblom will be in the store signing copies of her new book, “Adventures of Princess Isabella The Leprechaun.”

"The Adventures of Princess Isabella The Leprechaun" by Linda Romblom

“The Adventures of Princess Isabella The Leprechaun” by Linda Romblom

About the book and author: “The Adventures of Princess Isabella The Leprechaun” began as bedtime stories told by a grandmother (Linda Romblom) to her granddaughter (Isabella Walker), who became the leading character, Princess Isabella in their adventures. Her family members and friends play supporting roles and she named animals in the story as it was told.

As Isabella grew and became interested in reading and drawing, these special times between grandmother and granddaughter expanded into creating this book. Their time together was so wonderful that they came up with a way to “share the magic!” They added a template to the back of the book so others can personalize the story with their own character names and create artwork together. Questions that help readers relate the story to their lives and talk about important issues were also added to enrich the bonding experience.

Linda Romblom, primary author, was assisted by Isabella in saying things in a way her friends would understand. Isabella Walker, primary illustrator, encouraged Grammie Linda to not only help with coloring, but occasionally try her hand at drawing.

Linda has a master’s degree in education, and prior to her recent retirement taught Family and Consumer Science to high school students, including course work in Child Development. This book incorporates many of the foundational principles she used in lesson planning that enhance cognitive development and creativity in children.

The second event will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, when Book World will host a fundraising event for the Rock County Morale Committee. A percentage of the sales during this time will be donated to the committee.

We hope to see you at Book World for both of these great events!

Fall 2016 In-Store Events

Jacki Frerichs, left, and Tricia Clasen

Book World of Janesville is proud to offer two fall-related in-store events for our customers.

The first will occur on Saturday, September 17. Local artist Jacki Frerichs will be at the store from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. presenting her new Halloween Countdown calendars.

About Jackie: For almost twenty years, Jacki’s delightful illustrations have been seen on a wide range of products including greeting cards, mugs, imprintables, balloons, paper goods, rubber stamps, window clings, stickers, gift wrap, flags, ornaments, and much more.

The second event will take place at Book World on Saturday, October 22.  On that date local author Tricia Clasen will be here between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. signing copies of her new book, “Haunted House Project.”

About Tricia (in her own words): Wife, mom, professor, travel planner extraordinaire and wanna-be writer. While that sums up the roles I play and much of what I value , it leaves a few holes in the story. And I love a good story. I like to watch them, read them, tell them, hear them, and of course, write them.

Book World is located at 2451 Milton Ave. (in the Janesville Plaza), Janesville, WI 53545.

We hope to see you at one or both of these events. Happy Fall!
